The Autumn Tour was the fifty-fourth tour of Mario Kart Tour, which began on October 6, 2021, and ended on October 19, 2021. The tour introduced various Tanooki-themed items, such as marking the return of Tanooki Mario as a playable character and introducing Rosalina's Tanooki form from Super Mario 3D World as a playable variant, making this tour the first to introduce two new High-End characters since the 2021 Ninja Tour thirteen tours prior. King Boo (Luigi's Mansion) and Peach (Halloween) (who both appeared as the week 2 spotlight drivers in the previous Halloween Tours) reappeared as spotlights for the second week.

The tour's signature course was Wii Maple Treeway, and similarly to the last tour that featured this track as its signature course, the 2020 Halloween Tour, there were Jack-o'-lanterns scattered across every course except GBA Sunset Wilds, 3DS Rosalina's Ice World, 3DS Rainbow Road, their variants, and SNES Donut Plains 2R/T. While this tour did not introduce any new courses (the first since the Wedding Tour nine tours prior), it introduced the R/T variants of SNES Choco Island 1 and Wii Maple Treeway.

Starting from this tour onwards, trailers for tours are no longer released on the tour's start date but rather on the tour's announcement date, though several later tours had their trailers released several days earlier. The Coins Aplenty event gives out 500 coins per course instead of 300 coins per course as it is held only on Saturdays, while on Tuesdays, a new event called Tokens Aplenty takes place instead, where players can earn a random amount of event tokens per course on a randomly selected cup. The changes for these events were effective in the Autumn Tour and the 2021 Halloween Tour, as the Coins Aplenty event returned to 300 coins per course and held on Saturdays and Tuesdays, while Tokens Aplenty is held on Mondays.
